N.S. Lesbian Couple Says Birth Registration Discriminatory

A lesbian couple in Halifax has filed a human rights complaint over the way Nova Scotia registers the birth of a child under the Vital Statistics Act, which recognizes the birth mother, but not a second female parent.

The couple are being aided by the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project.
